NPDI acts as a local agent to bring internationally accredited academic programmes to the Namibian market. Some of the programmes offered, are ranging from Certificates through to PhD programmes in various disciplines, mostly focusing on Leadership, Finance and Cyber Security. All qualifications are conferred by our international accredited partners. Short modules are current and delivered by well qualified and experienced industry experts.

The strategic objectives of NEO-Professional Development Institute are to:

Yvonne Yon, Managing Director – NPDI (Namibia)

Ms Yon is the Managing Director of the newly established Neo- Professional Development Institute (NDPI), in Windhoek, Namibia. She holds an accumulative 28 years of experience in Higher Education Administration & Management. She worked at the University of Namibia in various roles. For the past 18 years she was seconded to work at the University’s Business School – her roles included being the Programme Officer of International Programmes, where after she was promoted to Assistant Director, Corporate Services and finally she held the position of Assistant Director of the Namibia Business School (NBS) until she left the institution’s services at the end of 2017. She provided management and strategic direction for financial and administrative support services, including marketing, human resources, finance, facilities, IT, health and safety and risk management. She also lead the school’s consulting arm that focuses on providing high-quality business consulting and executive education to government and the private sector.

She was involved in the establishment of Namibia Business School since early 2000. Her involvement stems from years of experience in managing post-graduate programmes offered at the University of Namibia in collaboration with various international universities and business schools.

Prior to joining the Namibia Business School, she worked at the University of Namibia, mainly responsible for international programmes, hosted within the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences, assisting in establishing relationships and liaising with international partner universities and institutions, such as African Economic Research Consortium, London University and Maastricht School of Management. Recently she expanded the programme offerings of NBS to other SADC countries such as Swaziland, Botswana and Lesotho. She also acted as consultant to the establishment of the University of Zambia’s business School (UNZA).

Ms. Yon possesses a Diploma in Management, a Diploma in Workforce Development from Pennsylvania State University (PennState), a Post- Graduate Diploma in Applied Educational Leadership and Management from the University of London and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Maastricht School of Business, in the Netherlands.

In 2013, Ms Yon was awarded the prestigious Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship. The programme brings professionals from designated countries to the United States for a year of non-degree, graduate-level study, leadership development and professional collaboration with U.S. counterparts. She was hosted by Pennsylvania State University and George Mason School of Management, taking part in a wide range of Continuous Professional Development Programmes in Higher Education Administration and business strategies.
